Philips Sonicare E-Series Replacement Brush HeadThe Philips Sonicare E-Series Replacement Brush Heads are for use with Sonicare Advanced, Sonicare Elite and Sonicare Essence. With this package you get 2 brush heads. According to the users manual you should replace your brush heads every 3 months but I have used mine for up to 6 months before with no problems.

The brush heads are tapered with extra soft contoured bristles which is great for people with sensitive gums. The brush head is angled which helps and makes it easier to get into those hard to reach places in your mouth.

These 2 brush heads could easily last you for one year. That works out you are paying under 2 dollars per month. This sounds expensive but you are ultimately saving yourself hundreds of dollars. The Sonciare Electric toothbrushes really do give your mouth a wonderful clean and prevent damage on your teeth. Nearly every time I visit the dentist he finds something new to work out but since I have started to use the Sonicare Brush Heads I haven’t had any problems. That is a massive saving for me already.

I have the best prices for Philips Sonicare E-Series Replacement Brush Heads are on Amazon. They ship all around the world and the prices are A LOT cheaper than my local pharmacy or drug store.

Philips Sonicare HX5351 Essence 5300 Electric ToothbrushI often take business trips around the country and was looking for an electric toothbrush that I could use while travelling. The price  was my main concern. I didn’t want to buy a more expensive electric toothbrush only to lose it or misplace it. The electric toothbrush that I found best was the Philips Sonicare HX5351 Essence Electric Toothbrush.  The Sonicare HX5351 is cheap and has excellent reviews. Eventually when I get around to backpacking the Sonicare HX5351 will be coming with me. Here are some of the reasons that I found the Sonicare HX5351 to suit me best.

Price:

You can buy the Sonicare HX5351 for under $50 on amazon. This is one of the cheapest electric toothbrushes on the market from a Philips. I do enjoy the Philips Sonicare FlexCare HX6972 but for under $50 and travelling with the Sonicare Essence (HX5351) is best.

Sonic Technology:

One of the great benefits of getting a Philips Electric Toothbrush is the Sonic Technology. Sonic Technology uses high speed movements to create fluid that can get in between your teeth resulting in a much more thorough clean. The Sonicare Essence toothbrush has 31,000 movements per minute something which is impossible to achieve with a normal toothbrush.

Brushing Modes:

Unlike the other more expensive electric toothbrushes the Sonicare Essence only has one brushing mode. The mode is called clean mode and lasts for 2 minutes. The 2 minute timer is great for cleaning your teeth and is the recommended time for cleaning your teeth. This mode is really all you need and a lot of people with the more expensive versions never use the different brushing options.

Brush Heads:

You get one brush head straight out of the box. The brush heads that are used for the Sonicare Essence toothbrush are the E-Head Brushes. This brush head is also compatible with the Advance and Elite series from Philips. The brush head is tapered and has extra-soft contoured bristles which helps if you have sensitive gums. The brush head also has a angled neck so it makes it easier to reach those hard to reach areas. The brush heads usually last 3 to 6 months depending on how often and how hard you use them. The brush heads screw on very easily.

Battery Life:

The Sonicare HX5351 Essence comes with a built in rechargeable battery. After a full charge (usually 24 hours) your toothbrush will last for up to 2 weeks. This long battery life makes it idea for those short business trips or holidays. If you are lucky enough to be going on a holiday longer than 2 weeks you can take your charger with you. It is light and compact. When your battery is running low a light will come on around the power button to let you know to recharge your electric toothbrush. The brush will also bleep after you have finished cleaning your teeth. If the electric toothbrush bleeped or the battery life came on, you have another 2 or 3 two minute cleans before the battery runs out.

Easy-Start:

The Sonicare HX5351 Essence uses sonic technology and this causes a lot of vibrations which helps remove plaque and gives you whiter teeth and removes stains such as coffee and tobacco. For a first time user to the vibrations it may feel a little strange. To help you ease into this the Sonicare HX5351 Essence has an Easy-Start which means that it gradually increases the power over the first 12 uses.

Whiter teeth and healthier gums in 28 days guaranteed:

If you have some staining on your teeth or are looking for whiter teeth this may just be the product for you. Whiter teeth and healthier gums are guaranteed in 28 days by the manufacturer.

Quad-pacer:

The quad-pacer is one of my favourite things about the Sonicare  Essence toothbrush. Each section of your mouth needs 30 seconds of cleaning. This toothbrush has a cleaning mode of 2 minutes and each section of your mouth should get 30 seconds of cleaning time each. The Sonicare HX5351 Essence will beep and give a small vibration after 30 seconds of use. The is beep and vibration means it’s time to move on to the next quadrant of your mouth.

In the Box:

When you buy the Sonicare HX5351 Essence this is what you’ll get in the box.

1. The brush handle.
2. One E-Series Brush Head.
3. Brush head holder.
4. Charger base / stand for holding your brush handle.
5.  A travel case for when you are out on the road.
6. A travel cap. This cap will protect your brush head from damage while travelling.

Multiple Users:

One of the great things about the Sonicare HX5351 Essence electric toothbrush is that it is ideal for multiple users which can save a lot of money. If you are living with family members, friends or your partner you can share the same electric toothbrush. You each have your own brush head and share the base of the Sonicare HX5351 Essence.

Sonicare Toothbrush Warranty:

The Flexcare electric toothbrush comes with a two year limited warranty. Philips Oral Health Care, Inc. will replace your Sonicare handle or charger within 2 years of the original purchase  if either is found to be defective in materials or workmanship. If your electric toothbrush stops working due to damage or misuse you will not get a replacement. The warranty does not cover the brush heads.

I am happy with the choice I made and I am sure you will be too. The Sonicare HX5351 Essence is cheap and does a wonderful job on my teeth. From looking around on the Internet I have found that Amazon have the best prices and it is often priced below $50.

Oral B Professional Care 5000 ToothbrushI was planning on buying an electric toothbrush for my parents for Christmas. I looked around and decided on the Oral B Professional Care 5000 for it’s price and reviews. It has received great reviews and is just over $100. I would like  to share some of the information I found about the Professional Care 5000 while doing my research. The Oral B Professional Care 5000 used to be called the Oral B Triumph 5000.

Brushing Modes:

First of all, there are 5 modes available.  Each mode offers a different brushing style and recommended time.

Daily Clean: The daily clean is 2 minutes long allowing 30 seconds for each section of you mouth. The toothbrush will beep every 30 seconds to let you know to move on to the next section. This is the mode that most people will be using everyday.

Deep Clean: The deep cleaning mode really gets into deep, hard to reach places in your mouth / gums and according to the Oral B website it kills up 99.7% of plaque. This mode lasts for 3 minutes.

Sensitive: The sensitive mode is for people with sensitive teeth and gums.

Massage: This mode gently stimulates the gums.

Polish/ Whitening: This mode helps polish you teeth and provides natural whitening in just 3 weeks by removing stains. Oral B recommend you use their Oral-B Pro White Replacement Brush Head (3 ct.)

Changing through the modes is simple. The second button from the top on the toothbrush allows you to change the modes, quick and easy.

Wireless Smart Guide:

The smart guide is a wireless device kind of like a bleeper that provides info about your brushing. This really is a great feature from Oral B. The smart guide comes with a wall mount and an adhesive sticker so you can put it on the wall, your bathroom mirror or have it beside the sink. The smart guide when not in use displays the time. When you turn on the electric toothbrush it shows you what mode you are in and how long you must brush each section of your mouth. If you are pressing the toothbrush too hard on your teeth a warning sign will appear and the electric toothbrush will vibrate. This is great for people who tend to vigorously brush their teeth. When your mode time is up a smiley face will appear to let you know. The clock  really is an excellent feature to have in a bathroom. Overall, the smart guide helps maximise your cleaning routine for a quick, efficient clean.

Waterproof:

Like most Electric toothbrushes these day the Oral B Professional Care 5000 is waterproof which is very handy when cleaning it.

Brush heads:

The heads are very easy to put on the electric toothbrush. They just pop on and off. You get two brush heads in the box. At the bottom of the brush heads are coloured rings which can be changed. This is great as you can share your electric toothbrush and just keep your own brush head. The coloured bottoms of the brush heads insures you won’t be using the wrong brush head. Another great thing about the smartseries 5000 is that there are many different brush heads available. Brush heads available are the FlossAction, Pro White, Precision Clean, Sensitive Clean, Dual Clean, Power Tip and Ortho Care.

In the box:

When you buy the  Oral B Professional Care smart series 5000 you get the electric brush, 2 brush heads, the wireless smart guide, a charger and dock / case for brush heads, 2 x AA batteries for the smart guide, a wall mount for the smart guide, an adhesive sticker and a blue hard case.

Travelling:

Travelling with the Oral B Professional Care 5000 is simple. The charger is light and compact making it very easy to bring when on holidays. When you purchase the Oral B Professional Care 5000 you get a blue hard case which is perfect for bringing on trips, protecting your toothbrush and brush heads. The charger is 100 V – 240 V so you can use it anywhere in the world. If your trip is for a week you don’t even need to bring the charger with you.

Aggressive brushing?:

The Oral B Professional Care 5000 is excellent for people who brush aggressively. If  you start to brush aggressively you will be altered by a warning sign on the smart guide and the toothbrush will vibrate.

Battery life:

According to Oral B the Oral B Professional Care 5000 lasts up to 10 days without charging under normal use. Normal use is twice a day for 2 minutes. There is an LCD Display on the electric toothbrush which shows you your current battery level.

Warranty:

With Oral B Professional Care 5000 there is a Limited 2 Year Warranty. If the product is damaged on purchase or later stops working Oral B will replace or fix the product. They will not fix it if your drop it or don’t take care of it.

Toothbrush Grip:

Another good thing about the electric toothbrush is the rubber grip on the back of the toothbrush. It makes it very easy to keep a firm grip on the toothbrush and greatly reduces the chances of dropping it.

I hope you found my ramblings about the Oral B Professional Care 5000 useful. I found that Amazon has the best prices and deals available.

Sonicare FlexCare Plus Electric ToothbrushI was looking around the Internet one day and trying to research and find the best Electric Toothbrush for me. As soon as I started to search I felt overwhelmed. The amount of Electric Toothbrushes in the market is unreal. I narrowed my search down to a few electric toothbrushes one of which is the Philips Sonicare FlexCare HX6972 /10. I searched through all the sites for the best price and full list of features. The Sonicare FlexCare HX6972 /10 had so much to offer and I will talk about them below in my review.

Flexcare HX6972 /10 Modes:

There are 5 modes available with up to 31,000 brush strokes per minute. The 5 modes are displayed on an illuminated LCD screen on the brush which turns off when not in use. Each brushing mode is set up with different times depending on the mode. As there are 4 main section to your teeth (top left and right and bottom left and right) the Flexcare HX6972 toothbrush will give a small vibration to let you know you should move on to the next section of your mouth The 5 brushing modes for the FlexCare HX6972 are:
Clean: This the basic mode that most people use for maximum cleaning efficacy. The time for this mode is 2 minutes. I use this one everyday and it really does the job.
Gum Care: This is one of the biggest reasons people buy the Sonicare Flexcare plus. The Gum Care mode is proven to improve you gum health in only 2 weeks. The total length of the gum care mode is 3 minutes. 2 minutes are for regular cleaning while the final minute is gentle allowing you to get at those areas with gum problems to prevent bleeding and to protect against gingivitis.
Refresh: The refresh mode is a short 1 minute brush that is great for clean ups after meals.
Sensitive: The sensitive mode offers gentler brush strokes for those sensitive areas.
Massage: This not so much a brushing mode but a light vibration intended to stimulate the gum tissue.

Brush Heads:
When you buy the Sonicare Flexcare HX6972 you get two brush heads in the box. One is the Standard ProResults brush head and one is the Compact ProResults brush head. The standard brush head is similar is shape and size to that of a regular manual toothbrush. The compact brush head is round and smaller the the standard for those hard to reach places. Sonicare Replacement brush heads can be bought here Brush Head Standard and compact 3pk for sale. To achieve best results you will need to replace the brush heads every 3 months. I tend to be a bit rough with the toothbrush so I use 1 toothbrush every 2 months or so.

Sonic Technology:

Philips Sonicare FlexCare+ uses a special kind of technology in their toothbrushes that they created called sonic technology. The electric brush head rotates at 31,000 movements per minute. This fast motion allows the fluid (toothpaste / water) to get deep between your teeth for a better clean.

UV Sanitizer:

A great addition to the Flexcare HX6972 /10 is the UV Sanitizer or so I’m led to believe. Beside the recharging dock is a little box that you open and can place two brush heads. Once inside the box you press the button and a 10 minute UV sanitation begins. The idea behind it all is that it kills off 99% of bacteria that is on your toothbrush after cleaning you teeth. This will help reduce plaque and any other problems associated with bacteria.

Battery life:

The FlexCare HX6972 /10 uses a lithium ion battery. When you first get the electric toothbrush it is recommended that you give it a 24 hour charge. The battery lasts for 3 weeks if using it twice a day for 2 minutes. This is perfect when travelling as you don’t need to bring your charger however a travel charger and case is included in the box.

Sonicare toothbrush Problems:
I have yet to encounter any problems with my toothbrush but if you don’t take care of the brush heads they may wear quicker. After you have finished using your toothbrush replace the brush head to the UV Sanitizer.

Multiple Users:
One of the great things about the FlexCare HX6972 /10 electric toothbrush is that it is ideal for multiple users which can save a lot of money. If you are living with family members, friends or your partner you can share the same electric toothbrush. You each have your own brush head and share the base of the FlexCare HX6972 /10. To make sharing even easier there is a spot at the end of each toothbrush head for you to attach a small coloured ring. When you buy the FlexCare HX6972 /10 you get four coloured rings in the pack so you never mix up toothbrush heads again.

Toothbrush for Sensitive gums:
Do you have sensitive gums? Sonicare Flexcare is perfect for people with sensitive gums. The sonic technology focuses on getting between your teeth and gums to remove plaque without the hard scrubbing that is needed with a regular toothbrush. The brush head spins faster than possible with a manual toothbrush giving you a shorter, gentler brush.

Accessories / In the Box:
When you open the box you will have the electric tooth brush, 2 toothbrush heads, 4 coloured rings for the heads, a dock that recharges you electric toothbrush with a UV Sanitizer, a travel recharger and hard case for travelling with hygienic travel caps to protect your brush head while travelling. The dock charger and travel charger are  100 – 240 V so you can use the electric toothbrush around the world.

I don’t think I could go back to a normal toothbrush after using the Flexcare HX6972 /10. If you are looking for more reviews or looking for the best price for the Sonicare Flexcare HX6972 /10, visit Philips Sonicare FlexCare Plus HX6972/10, Rechargeable Toothbrush.
